Henley Boat RacesHenley Boat Races

Information for Spectators

The Henley Boat Races are a series of private matches between representative crews from Oxford and Cambridge, and take place each Spring over Henley Reach on the River Thames, the venue for Henley Royal Regatta.

The main bulk of facilities has moved to Temple Island Meadows and will not be at Rememham Farm as in the past.

Tapenade will be on hand to provide a full bar service from 10:30am, great food, Brakspear ale - the official beer of the Henley Boat Races - and a delicious range of cakes for tea time. Have a look over the full menu!

As well as the varsity races, the intercollegiate races offer a chance for the best men's and women's college crews from Oxford and Cambridge to race each other over part of the Henley course.

Although the day is centered around rowing, the Reading Spring Gardens Brass Band will be providing musical entertainment in between the races, while the Balloon Fairies will be on hand to keep children amused throughout the day with face painting, juggling and balloon modelling.

Wondering how to get there? Full details on our travel page.

When is your friend racing? Here's the schedule for the day's racing.

What to do after the racing? Go to the Henley Boat Races Ball!
