The trial eights races for both lightweight men's clubs will be held on Sunday 18th December. The Cambridge crews will race first at 2:30pm, followed by their Oxford counterparts at 3:00pm.
This years crews from Cambridge have been named "Ace" and "King", references to the two brands of boats they will use: Wintech and Hudson. Oxford have chosen to race "Sublime" against "Ridiculous".
The trial eights races are a way for the squads to practice racing over the course for the real boat race, to be held in just under four months time, as well as an occasion for old members to return, reminisce and check on how progress is going so far this season. The heavyweight men's crews also run a similar event held earlier in the week on the tideway.
